Ecig costs can range from $12-$200. Now it comes down to what you want in an e-cig. Just remember that not all are created equal.

 

The $12-$15 price range, options are called disposables. They only last about a day or 2 and then you throw them away. I usually tell people to avoid these types. The end result usually ends up being more expensive, if not the same cost as real cigarettes. Also, they are usually cheap products.

 

The $20-$40 price range, options are called limited starter kits. These kits are usually the worst ones you can buy. The products are really cheap and poorly made. The performance is non-existent, meaning it will feel like smoking air, not a cigarette if it even works. The kits only come with 1 battery a couple cartridges and 1 USB charger. Not a good starter kit.

 

The $60-$70 dollar kits are a better start, but this is where you have to be careful. make sure the kit comes with at least 2 batteries, 5 cartridges and 2 chargers. A wall charger and USB; Some can also feel like smoking air at this price too.

 

Anything over $90 just walk away, too much money for the same product you can get for $60-$70.

 

Also, there are much more expensive type of vaporizers called mechanical mods.  These are used mostly by advanced vapors.  They range from $50-$800, but its more of a status thing than anything else.

Do you have to charge them?  How long does the charge last?

Yes, you have to charge them, and charging time depends on the size of battery.  You basically treat it like your cell phone.  Since they have the same type of batteries in them.  Usually a full charge takes anywhere from 2-8 hrs.  Most simply plug into a micro or mini usb charger.  Others use external batteries that you put into a charger you purchase with it.

 

How do you clean them?

  1. Remove white poly-fill with a pair of needle nosed tweezers.

  2. Rinse cartridge under hot water, allowing water to enter from both the top and the bottom.

  3. Rinse poly-fill under hot water, twisting it slowly in your fingers (to retain its shape)

  4. Blow out the cartridge, wiping off any excess water.

  5. Roll the poly-fill in paper towel and press on it to remove water.

  6. Re-insert poly-fill into cartridge.

 

When to replace: Some people bite their cartridges (myself included), and the top can become filled with bite marks and indentations. Also, if you pop the cartridge off and on a lot, it will eventually lose its tight connection to the atomizer. If this happens, it is time to replace your cartridge.

Choking hazard: If you bite hard on the end of your cartridge, the lid of the cartridge can pop off. This could create a choking hazard.
